Here at Two Dam Sustainable, we believe in farming and living in an ethical and sustainable manner. We offer a range of top-quality artisanal trout products which are highly sustainable and delicious, available by local delivery and at selected resellers and restaurants in the Montagu and Cape Town area. Our eco-friendly accommodation provides the perfect off-grid escape from the hustle and bustle of city living.

All of our artisanal trout delicacies are produced on the farm, fresh and free from preservatives and harmful additives. Our trout are farmed in an ethical manner with the traditionally proven curing and smoking process that leads to a range of top-quality, highly sustainable and delicious trout products. Please note that industry standards do not require trout to be descaled. Please specify if descaling is required. The Rainbow Trout RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture System) operates sustainably by being an energy efficient low head recirculating system which to our knowledge does not exist in commercial aquaculture in this form anywhere in Africa. This design requires comparatively low electricity as opposed to conventional high pressure RAS or high volume raceway cultures, which require and often pollute huge volumes of fresh water.

The farm on which Two Dam Sustainable is situated runs almost entirely on renewable energy, is 100% off-the-grid and carbon neutral. We strive towards uncompromised sustainability in our day-to-day living and in all fields of our farming and operational practices. In October 2018 we won the Net Zero Innovative Project Award from the Green Building Council of South Africa.
