We moved to the small Karoo in 2017 to a small farm to start our dream. We bought our first 12 chickens from a local “padstal” which was Hariette and her 10 chicks. This was the start of a love affair that grew to 800 chickens. We have pastures for our girls and we grow organic lucern and spinach for extra supplement. You ever want to see a “hen fight” come watch us feed them spinach!!

Our girls are also fed grain which is free of hormones, animal byproducts, antibiotics and colourants. If our girls get sick we give them apple cider vinegar and garlic in their water. Since being in the Karoo we have also learnt to use freshly cut aloe in their water to maintain healthy guts. We learning as we go along, but we are farming using regenerative methods and just enjoying being able to provide the best eggs we possibly can, as nature intended.
