One Degree

This decade is critical for Regeneration. How we respond to agricultural challenges during this period will determine our common future. Evidence of the impact of harmful farming practices, and critical lessons from the past gives us the opportunity to improve the way we grow, distribute and consume food. The UN has warned that soils around the world are heading for exhaustion and depletion, with an estimated 60 harvests left before they are too barren to feed the planet. Apr 24, 2019.

Our mission is to create regenerative impact in the Farm-to-Fork value chain across Africa. One Degree was established as a direct response to the food security crisis on the African continent, and a firm belief that it takes a one-degree shift in approach, training to create monumental changes in the status quo. Armed with a vision to create Regenerative Agribusiness solutions, Warren and Steve approached the Business School of the Netherlands in 2019. Together, we have built collaborative partnerships with key role players in the agricultural value chain and business support to offer holistic agribusiness solutions to entrepreneurs and businesses across Africa. We work with farmers, business and agri-entrepreneurs to find regenerative solutions for their enterprises, and to create access to markets. Collectively, we can create a future to make our children proud.

At ONE DEGREE we bring the principles of Regeneration to Agriculture and Economics by helping companies and entrepreneurs working in the food and agri-business value and supply chain become successful. Through regenerative agriculture practices, farmers could produce similar or potentially higher yields, with lower input cost and less environmental damage to the soil. By participating in Regenerative economics, agribusinesses across the African continent will create more opportunities in the entire agricultural value chain.

We partner with educational institutions, NGO’s, agri-business and humanitarian organisations that share our vision and passionate about creating holistic and regenerative solutions to complex food security challenges. Partners are carefully selected, and our relationship with each one of them is based on mutual respect, trust and complementary skills and expertise. Through our partnerships, we can provide our clients and the people we serve a more complete and magnifying service.

The FARM-TO-FORK ACADEMY trains individuals, school leavers and community members in regenerative agriculture and economics. Participants receive quality hands-on training at a residential academy and complimentary workplace experiences at farms and businesses. Our Action Learning training model allows entrepreneurs and business managers to implement learning in real-time and creating real solutions in Food and Agribusiness Sector. All our learning experiences are designed by academic and industry experts, and offer the latest trends from around the globe and prepare students to thrive in a new reality post-Corona Pandemic of 2020.

One Degree is dedicated to telling the stories of those who have made the decision to develop (heal, restore, revive) the soil. If you are a farmer (big or small) or an individual working to develop (heal, restore, revive) the soil to produce nutrient-dense organic food through Regenerative Agricultural Processes and you’re interested in documenting your process, we would love to hear from you.
