Mama Africa Farm has happy, loved, free-range Swiss Toggenberg and Saanen goats and koekoek chickens. Goat’s milk, cheese and yogurt is lovingly hand-made on our farm and is available through selected stores along with our free-range farm-fresh eggs. No Hormones Ever Used. There are many health benefits that can be received when eating and drinking Goat’s Milk Products. Our goats are raised humanely and are truly free range. They are not kept in small grassless pens. A humanely treated goat is a stress-free goat. We do not administer growth promoters or any hormones to our goats. Commercial diary farms routinely administer growth promoters and hormones to control micro-organisms in the intestines which in turn results in an unnatural growth rate. Natural herbs are used to control parasites at Mama Africa. Routine Antibiotics fed to commercial milking animals are identical to the ones administered to humans. Overuse of these antibiotics can lead to strains of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, allowing superbugs to flourish. Mama Africa goats only get antibiotics I their life is threatened.

Our chickens are truly free range. Unlike commercial chicken, they are not kept indoors in environmentally controlled houses throughout the duration of their lives. A humanely treated chicken is a stress-free chicken. Commercial chickens, on the other hand, are raised in severely cramped quarters where they can hardly move. Free range denotes a method of farming where the animals, for at least part of the day, can roam freely outdoors, rather than being confined in an enclosure for 24 hours each. Most free range farmers keep chickens in a smaller cage with open sides. But Mama Africa chickens roam freely in the day in a grass field enjoying more 10 hours of sunshine.
