Our pasture raised hens are completely free range and roam around happily all day in fresh pastures. Our chickens are free from antibiotics, growth promoting hormones and animal by-products. They sleep and lay in mobile trailers that are regularly moved to fresh pastures situated amongst the lush fields of Free State, South Africa.
My goal has always been to feed my family in the most healthy and ethical way possible. As a family we produce our own food which also teaches our children about humane farming. I strongly believe we need to honour, respect and appreciate the life that goes into our food. Intensive farming systems overlook the ecological benefits that holistic farming is based on.
I started farming with chickens when my children were small, I wanted to be self-sustainable, grow my own food and know where the food I was eating came from.
We started small with a few layers for the house, which grew to family and friends, our local school moms and then shops. I started the eggs in 2012 and now have extended my range to broilers. We will soon be launching our free range pork, beef and lamb products. All our animals are pasture raised , free from antibiotics and fed a non-GMO diet.
