Foxenburg Estate

Your soul will simply sigh with happiness on entering Foxenburg’s bustling farm yard – the handsome home of award winning hand-made goats cheese, yoghurts and organic extra virgin olive oil. All slowly crafted, farm-house flair, award winners.

Nature’s blessing to Foxenburg’s cheese is the high Groenberg mountain terrain with its fynbos and indigenous flora which adds a beautiful flavour to our goat milk. Our herd of friendly and inquisitive Swiss Saanen goats is partly maintained on organic farm pastures, with goat houses to protect them indoors at night and in winter. The high mountain location benefits cheese maturation and enhances the aroma of the milk. You will taste the distinct flavours and textures so typical of Foxenburg’s cheeses. Our cheeses are made from 100% whole goat milk. Free of artificial preservatives, hormones and antibiotics. We follow slow production methods – typical of Italian and French farmhouse cheese-making methods. Brimming with the wholesomeness of traditional slow food making.

Foxenburg is a safe, pollutant free, natural environment for living beings; for animals, people, vegetation and water. A large part of Foxenburg Estate is a nature reserve. The farm is a recognized priority biodiversity site in the Cape Floristic region and a partner in Cape Nature’s stewardship program. In addition, Foxenburg’s nature reserve is part of the largest remaining intact piece of Renosterveld in the Western Cape. The farm is a member of the Agter-Groenberg Renosterveld conservancy.
