ITS A POT, BUT ITS SOFT. That’s right! You plant directly into the Softpot. This is a Softpot, reusable, recyclable and made with love in Cape Town, South Africa.
Grow bags encourage a healthier plant root system as they encourage root pruning as opposed to circling. Roots are therefore less likely to rot as the Softpots are the closest thing to your plants actually being in the ground. Softpot plants require less water on a regular basis because of the nature of the material. The wicking nature of the fabric not only prevents over watering, but is in fact, waterwise in that it keeps the plant damp and it helps with temperature control. Watered carefully, there is no need to place the pot onto a saucer or underliner, even on sensitive surfaces. Grow herbs, indoor plants and even veggie gardens with a felt Softpot grow bag.
Softpots make no pretensions, they are (as they say,) what they are.  They’re reassuring in their lack of ambiguity – snug, tactile plant containers made of durable felt in colours that can be both serene or stimulating. They gently contain your precious indoor greenery, violets, delicious monsters and herbs and, in a very sociable, non-threatening, ever-growing group, they will create your mini vegetable patch outdoors. Fill them with soil and nutrients and because of their permeable,  sturdy structure, they promote strong quick growth.
The world is changing, maybe for the better, where safety is going to be a priority; home is going to be the hub and creating comfort amid a newly realised vulnerability may overtake the frantic scrabble for more. Sylvie wants to recreate the sensibilities of cities that have got their life, leisure and work continuum right. Hong Kong and Stockholm, recently up-close, impressed her with the unexpected luxury of tiny things together in urban nooks and crannies that create harmony and wellbeing. No area is too small. Now, she’s inspired by community initiatives here at home where planterpreneurs create containerised food gardens on rooftops, streetsides, urban balconies and courtyards. And the Softpots are churning out from under the needles of home-based sewing machines similar to the one she borrowed to realise her inspiration.
