SEED is an established, award-winning non-profit and public benefits organization operating from Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats. With 12 years experience in pioneering schools Permaculture programs in under-resourced schools in South Africa, SEED has grown the Outdoor Classroom Program to a national reach and is now receiving increasing recognition for its first Abundance Centre in Mitchells Plain. SEED has worked in multiple communities finding that our work meets the need for ecological literacy and food security in youth and also offers practical solutions for the accelerating climate and energy crisis through building local resilience, skills training and job creation well as broader schools education. Awards Green Trust Award, Deutsche Bank Urban Age Award, Real Simple Green Inspiration Award, Ashoka Nomination.
