Le Bonheur Guest Accommodation McGregor is situated in the quaint little village of McGregor which is near Robertson in the Western Cape. Le Bonheur has been designed and built to be as eco-friendly as possible.
Local and organic produce is sourced from the local market, local community and suppliers. Predominantly organic ingredients are used in the breakfast that we serve our guests. We also accommodate specific dietary requests from our guests (vegetarian, banting etc) to avoid food waste. All household waste is recycled i.e paper, tins, plastic, glass bottles etc and other organic items are added to the compost-making system. Vegetable peels and lawn cuttings are donated to a worm-farmer and he gives us worm-tea in exchange. Fair trade practices are followed – we use ‘local’ service providers as much as possible and compensate fairly and treat the workers well – where possible we try to use manual labour more than machinery to create as many jobs as possible. This has a ripple effect economically for our local community.
Le Bonheur Accommodation McGregor has 2 guest suites available for couples looking for a romantic night away from the TV and the kitchen sink! Both suites have private entrances along pretty garden paths and private outside patios where you can enjoy your morning coffee or a glass of wine at sunset. Luxurious queen-size brass beds await you in suites that are well-insulated against the summer-heat; but will also keep you warm during the bitterly-cold winter nights! You will be able to enjoy a candle-lit bath or shower in the en-suite bathrooms which are appointed with modern fittings and fluffy towels on heated towel rails. There are separate bath and shower facilities in both Suites.
Le Bonheur is owned and managed by Martyn and Jennifer Johnson. Martyn is a construction project manager, registered with the NHBRC and assists with the construction of new homes in McGregor, Western Cape as well as all types of renovations and extensions using modern ‘green’ building techniques. Martyn enjoys a number of different hobbies: calligraphy, botanical watercolour painting, cooking and gardening! Jennifer is passionate about tourism and the well-being of all guests to Le Bonheur and McGregor.
