Colleen’s Handmade Sauces is South Africa’s premium handcrafted small batch hot sauces. Our products are made from 100% natural ingredients, no preservatives, colourants, flavourants or gluten. Farm to table – our fresh ingredients are sourced directly from local organic farmers.

My fondest childhood memories was spending time in the kitchen with my mom and grandmother getting to know all the family favourite dishes. These experiences gave me my start in this culinary world and as I grew older using a modern twist I created my own version of those recipes. I have always created authentic international dishes by using fresh, healthy ingredients. Being a foodie by heart I enjoyed extensive local travels and loved exploring South African cuisine. Some of my favourite memories was when my sons were young, I would allow them to choose a country from the globe and prepare a dish from that country. It was truly great moments watching their faces as we enjoyed the meal around the dining table. 

 My love for everything chilli is how Colleen’s Handmade Sauces came about. After experimenting in the kitchen looking for the perfect blend minus all the preservatives  and nasties found in shop bought sauces I created my all-time favourite Bird’s Eye Chili Sauce which I shared with all the other chilli addicts at the office. This led to orders being placed for my homemade chilli sauce, which started off in glass bottles with hand painted blackboard hearts personalised in white chalk. The love for chilli and the hand painted heart has always stayed with the brand. Three years back I took the bold move to leave corporate life to start my sauce business full time.

 While visiting my son in London, knowing what a foodie his mum is, he took me to quite a few Michelin star restaurants. This inspired me to become more creative with some of the sauce flavours which is now at 14 different flavour infusions.

With Colleen’s Handmade Sauces there is no compromise on quality or flavour. The sauces are made of the best natural ingredients and fresh produce is sourced from local organic farmers. I aim to inspire through my sauces, encouraging others to be  more conscious and mindful in their way of eating.
